Fedderwardersiel, Butjadingen
Shrimp fishing is a tradition in Butjadingen.The Fishing-Cooperative of Butjadingen was established on January 17th, 1931 by fishermen from Fedderwardersiel and Burhave.
In the 50s it had more than 30 members, probably its highest membership number to date.
Today we have 10 active fishermen working for the co-op, three of which come from Varel and Dangast in Friesland and joined the team in 1982 due to a merger.
