Cottage Pie4 servingsPeel the potatoes and cook in salted water 20 to 25 minutes until tender, drain and mash with the milk and a little butter. Season with salt and pepper.
Ingredients:
1 large onion
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
500 g ground beef (or mix of pork and beef)
300 ml broth
Salt and pepper
1 kg of potatoes
Milk
Butter
200g cheese, grated
While the potatoes are boiling you can peel and chop the onion. Heat the oil in a frying pan and fry the onion and the minced meat in it. Add broth, season with salt and pepper to taste and continue cooking for about 20 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 190 ° C (circulating air).
Spread the minced meat mixture into an ovenproof dish. Top with the mashed potatoes and sprinkle with the grated cheese.
Bake on middle shelf for about 20 minutes until the surface is golden brown and crispy.
You can supplement the broth with any of your favorite seasoning mixes or simply add water and an onion soup mix.
This hearty dish is a favorite amongst children and adults alike and as soon as the pie is in the oven there is plenty of time to get your kitchen cleaned up again beforehand!
