What a glorious spring! Even though the last time we had a dry spell like this was 100 years ago - we enjoy the sun and the almost cloudless sky above us. Thanks to our irrigation system Butjadingen still enjoys lush green fields and the frogs continue to croak cheerfully in their ditches. It\'s still a bit cold up here by the North Sea. The area being known for its fresh breeze! And we need it too, because on Pentecost weekend the \"18th Circus and Kite Festival\" will commence! From the 11th - 13th of June the \"Friesenstrand\" in Tossens will once again play host to this spectacular event. Kites of all shapes, colors and sizes adorn the sky, while down on the ground a colorful entertainment program is taking place. Butjadingen says \"Goodbye\" to boredom with kite flying demonstrations and instructions, kite workshops, face painting and a candy drop for children. An interactive circus, Bobby Car trail for the younger guests, bungee trampoline, and much more will entertain and amuse our guests daily from 11:00 to 18:00. Special highlight of this festival is a night air show with fireworks and beach party on Sunday evening. Scores of food carts and drink stalls with a wide variety of delicacies will provide ample sustenance on all three days. And whoever does not yet have their own kites or needs a pinwheel for their garden - you can find it at one of the stalls :-)

Anyone who is more down to earth and interested in crafts and wind mills can enjoy a special Pentecost weekend at the mills. The museum at the Moorsee mill offers a colorful program of tours, craftsmen, and beekeepers on Whit Monday. The Mill Café opens its doors and with a favorable wind you will be able to watch the windmill turn. The Seefeld mill attracts visitors on both days of Pentecost with arts and crafts and more than 40 exhibitors at the mill site. On Sunday the band \"Hootin \'the Blues\" will entertain you on the café patio and on Whit Monday, the \"Wall Street Dixies\" will show their musical talent. On both days there will be a puppeteer on the market to provide the entertainment for your children. So this is another ideal setting for a family outing. And if the weather stays this good.... What a joy!

See you at the Kite Festival!
