Journalist Aike Koch presents her book "The Last from Immkenburg"

The author Aike Koch, "The Last of Immkenburg" writes about events and episodes of her life which deserve to be saved and shared. Scenes from her childhood in Butjadingen, the countryside where she herself feels deeply rooted, from the time of the Hitler regime and the Postwar years.

Aike Koch was born in 1933 in Bremen. After graduation, she studied languages at Heidelberg. Then in 1989, she traveled extensively including France, Spain, Czech Republic - where she experienced the Prague Spring.

The author has written extensive works on the Franco dictatorship and the transition to democracy in Spain, wrote articles for the national school radio and dealt with the analysis of Chamber music and church music. For 15 years Aike Koch lived mainly on the island of Majorca. In 1989 she started the restoration of the farmhouse on the "Höchte" in Eckwarden, since then it has become permanent residence of the author.

This readable book "The Last of Immkenburg" with illustrations by Michael Färber is now available in bookshops.
